Painting the Turf:: Yani

 "G'day! Name's Yani Anderson, but ya can just call me Yani, o'course. What's yours?"

          [ A g e ; ]
 "I'm sixteen years young, mate. "

         [ G e n d e r ; ]
 "Heehee, here's where some inklings make a mistake! S' always alright when they do, though. I'm cisgender girl. I just prefer adrogynous clothing."  

         [ S p e c i e s ; ]
 "I'mma inkling! Haha, just kidding. Well, not really kidding, I'm an inkling too o'course, but I'm nautilis, too, which is likely what you were asking."

         [ C o l o r ; ]
 "Erm, no offense mate, but are ya colorblind? I'm green! Highlighter green, to be exact... Or like a lime green, maybe? Aw, who cares!"

         [ H e i g h t ; ]
"Hm, I stand at about 5'7 normally, but this here mohawk makes me seem 5'10!"

         [ W e i g h t ; ]
"Almost 140 pounds, mate!"

         [ P e r s o n a l i t y ; ]
~ Friendly: "Oh! 'Allo, mate! How've ya been? Pleasure to see you!" || Unlike her tentacle mohawk and double-pierced ears make her out to be, Yani is quite the sweetheart! She's very easy to befriend and even to those she's never met, she uses manners, smiles and just kind gestures toward new people. This can take some aback because she's sometimes misunderstood by her punk, rebellious exterior. Treating others how she'd want to be treated has been a golden rule to her for a very long time for a number of reasons. 
~ Laid Back: "Mhm, I'm pretty chill most of the time, you know?" || If Yani's not a) at Turf Wars or b) having a long chat, contrary to popular belief Yani is actually quite a calm inkling. As soon as she gets sucked into her favorite sport or a conversation though, prepare for all of that to be thrown out the window. 
~ Talkative: "Oh! That reminds me!! There was this one time..." || Yani is quite the social butterfly... And, for better or for worse, a giant chatterbox. Like really. If you say something that reminds her of this one time a few months ago where she did something, you're for sure going to hear that entire story! She runs out of breath sometimes because she talks so much.
~ Energetic: "Aw, c'mon, mate! One last round of Turf Wars? Please?" || Yani is very physically strong, and has pretty good endurance. This combined with her bubbly attitude makes her one energetic inkling. She can go at several rounds of Turf Wars one after the other with but five-minute water breaks in between. This can be overwhelming to some of her competitors and allies. And even in the face of literally every possible thing going wrong, Yani is pretty optimistic that she can eventually achieve whatever she's trying to achieve. Much to some peoples'... discomfort. Even if Turf Wars is going on and the entire field is another team's ink, you can bet she'll be trying to push everyone onward. 
~ Protective: "Okay, who hurt you? I'll show 'em not to mess with Yani's mates!!" || If you befriend Yani, you'll have one great friend. She'll be there as a shoulder to cry on, and can even be your bodyguard if she thinks somebody is treating you wrong. As much as she usually wouldn't hurt a fly, she puts herself after her friends and would physically fight somebody that was giving her friend a hard time. She often gives her friends pet names, such as "love", "mate", "darling" and "pal". These are usually meant 100% platonically, even though sometimes it seems otherwise.
~ Generous: "'Course you can have it. Here!" || Speaking of putting others before herself, she's well known in her hometown for her generosity. Sometimes she has to be held back by her friends to not give all of her money to a homeless person on the street. 
~ Messy: "My room is made up of organized chaos~" || Whether we're talking about her eating habits or her messy bedroom, Yani is... not the most organized person in the world. Often, there will be splat stains on her clothing and she can definitely wolf down a sandwich. 


         [ B a c k g r o u n d ; ]
    Yani was born in Shel City, a city pretty far from Cephalo and Inkopolis. She grew up in the slums of the city unfortunately, for she was raised by her now-single mom who was divorced. Yani's mother was one of her favorite people in the world and enforced the "treat others how you want to be treated" rule because of something that happened with her father. Yani doesn't know the full story to this day, only that he did something wrong and that's how they lived poor. Yani was often ridiculed at the public fish school _{(see what I did there??)} she went to because of how she acted. She was quiet, a pushover, and wasn't as feminine as her other classmates. Other than this, her school life was fairly normal.

    When she turned 14, however, things started to change. She'd always been physically strong, but with the introduction of Turf Wars, she absolutely fell in love with the sport. She could lift a splat roller from the first time she tried out the sport, and since then has been the tank of a team! Turf Wars was a huge confidence booster, as was getting her piercings and haircut. She felt like having a more adrogynous appearance fueled her self confidence by a landslide. To make her mother more proud than she was before, Yani joined a Turf Wars team that competed for charity money. Her and the other so-called "rebellious teens" in the city actually got quite the good name; game by game they were helping poor people who were in the slums of Shel City, just like she was.

    When her mother found out how successful she was at Turf Wars at first, she highly encouraged the sport. Now, with Shel's team being so great and raising so much money, Yani's mother encourages her to reach for bigger teams. Yani had only heard of Inkopolis' massive Turf Wars craze, and decided to buy a train ticket to the city. However, it turned out Yani bought the ticket for Cephalo City instead! Without enough money to buy another ticket, Yani's in Cephalo city for now... And wants to make Turf Wars the craze that it is in Inkopolis and other major cities.

         [T r i v i a  /  E x t r a s ; ]
☆ If you couldn't tell by her slang usage, Yani has a very thick Australian accent <xD
☆ Yani is a vegetarian ("Why would you want to kill off poor lil' buggers like animals?")
☆ So long as it's meat-free she will literally eat anything that is considered food
☆ A jokester, but not exactly willing to prank anyone so long as it's 100% harmless
☆ Can be REALLY ignorant at times. Anything she says wrong is out of ignorance, not hate!!
☆ Literally loves reading so much
☆ Quite noisy on the battlefield actually so her stealth is sort of an issue, but her being a roller/tank support makes up for that
☆ Birthday is December 3rd
